The kitchen

The kitchen, which is the warmest and most agreeable place of the house, is paved with handcrafted "cotto". The walls are decorated with seventeenth-century majolica inlays and the ceiling has a wooden girder.

The big barbecue stone blocks were once the steps of an ancient villa. The stove is French (Morice), with two ovens, four burners, a hot plate and a boiler for vegetables.
The dark marble sink was once used as a trough for horses.
